FABRICATION OF QUICK LIFTING JACK WITH GEAR ARRANGEMENT:

ABSTRACT

                This project work titled “FABRICATION OF QUICK LIFTING JACK WITH GEAR ARRANGEMENT” has been conceived having studied the difficulty in lifting the any type of light vehicles. Our survey in the regard in several automobile garages, revealed the facts that mostly some difficult methods were adopted in lifting the vehicles for reconditioning. Now the project has mainly concentrated on this difficulty, and hence a suitable device has been designed. Such that the vehicle can be lifted from the floor land without application of any impact force. The fabrication part of it has been considered with almost case for its simplicity and economy, such that this can be accommodated as one of the essential tools on automobile garages.


INTRODUCTION

                     This device the quick lifting jack with gear arrangement for automobile garages has been developed to later the needs of small and medium automobile garages, who are normally man powered with very minimum of skilled labors. In most of the garages the vehicles are lifted by using screw jack. This needs high man power and skilled labors. In order to avoid all such disadvantages. This, motorized hydraulic jack has been designed in such a way that it can be used to lift the vehicle very smoothly without any impact force. The operation is made be simple that even an unskilled labor can handled, by just demonstrating the working of the motorized hydraulic jack once.
   
WORKING PRINCIPLE:

FABRICATION OF QUICK LIFTING JACK WITH GEAR ARRANGEMENT
   The quick lift jack is a device used for lifting heavy loads by the application of much smaller force. The working principle of a quick lift jack may be explained with the help of Fig. Consider a two helical gears arrangement, operating in two helical gears are different diameters,.  
  
           Quick lift jacks and much other technological advancement such as automobile brakes and dental chairs work. Wiper motor is used to rotates the helical gear arrangements.   A helical gear is a gear that has very curved teeth. Commonly found in manual transmissions. Helical gears mesh more smoothly than straight gears, and are much quieter during operation thanks to the curved teeth which maintain constant contact with each other while the gears are spinning. Wiper motors are designed for two speed operation. The motor consists of three brushes namely; common, low speed and high Speed. Two of the brushes will be supplied for different mode of operation.  These wiper motors have a more torque compare to other motors.

Because of this torque helical springs are starts rotating. Jack arrangement will be fixed to helical gear. Clockwise rotation of wiper motor jack will rotates upward motion and anti clockwise rotation of wiper motor jack will rotates downward motion.

  2. is it really possible to lift car with this motor ...? How much wattage and volt... this motor have?????? Also tell the RPM....

  3. its possible no matter of rpm because torque requuired to lift is achieved by worm and worm gear. your design should start with how much weight we have to lift against gravity . on this basis calculate torque required . once you get torque its easy to select motor, rpm as well as gear design .

    1. Yeah .. but for designing the gear.. wattage and rpm of motor should bhi known.. otherwise how it is possible to design the gears..

    2. use v. b. bhandari book for gear design.only torque is enough .rpm ,you have to assume it or take some standard value . from torque and rpm power can be found out . next is simple process . to save cost use standard available gears -gear should be selected according to speed ratio calculation.

    4. calculations should be done considering standard worm gear jack . there are lots of worm gear jack design pdf available on google . i will upload the process of this type of jack design soon.

    6. Nice project but i have doubt.. how you will fit the worm wheel?? It can displace when operated??
      N what about locking the screw jack arrangement.. after turning off the motor.. it may come downward due to load..

  4. to fit worm wheel you need trust bearing and base plate which having thickness of more than 15 mm .. make hole of diameter same as outer diameter of bearing . nd fix gear shaft in bearing that means in plate. locking is needed

    1. By thrust bearing but how? It can move up or down when rotated.. i m not getting what u want to say..
